Bruno Mars received several nominations at Friday night’s Grammy awards nomination show. The Hawaiian born talent is no stranger to the accolades, but this year has certainly been a momentous one for him. His album, Unorthodox Jukebox soared on the Billboard charts ever since its release, and tracks from that album made their way to the very top.
Bruno received nominations for Record of the Year and Song for the Year for his smash hit single, Locked Out of Heaven. He got a nod for Best Solo Performance for his heart wrenching ballad, When I Was Your Man. And he was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album for Unorthodox Jukebox.
Of course these nominations don’t mean instant wins for Bruno Mars. He is up against some incredibly stiff competition at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Both Lorde–the 17-year-old singer from New Zealand, known for her hit song Royals, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Thrift Shop, Same Love) were nominated in some of the same categories as Mars.
Twitter fans chimed in with their excitement about Bruno Mars’ Grammy Award nominations.
