Britney Spears has been in the business a long time, and when she wants something, she usually knows how to get it. Despite sitting out music for a bit during a difficult time in her life, the pop star still has quite a bit of pull when it comes to projects.
Spears and Iggy Azalea teamed up for a duet recently, and Azalea says that even though there was initially some confusion about who would take the song, Spears ended up with it.
“I rewrote parts of it and it became my song, and I tried to make it all mine and keep it. Then she said, ‘No, no, I am going to take it, my album is ready.’ And so I swung it back her way because she’s Britney Spears, you have to do that. She gets whatever she wants,” Azalea said.
That doesn’t mean the duo had beef, however; Azalea says Spears has been very kind to her and that they had lunch together while working out the details of the song.
“She’s super nice. She came to my house and had lunch and I didn’t know what to expect, and we actually really got along. I’ve been texting her, annoying her with all my ideas for the video and she’s been a really good sport about it, so I’m really excited,” Azalea said at the iHeartRadio Awards over the weekend.
The song will reportedly be a true collaboration between the singers, rather than a song by Spears where Azalea jumps in every now and then. In the meantime, Spears took some time during spring break to take her sons to Hawaii for a vacation.
“With them being in school so much and with me being in Vegas, it’s hard for us to plan trips and to go to places, so this is a really big opportunity for me to be able to spend spring break with them in Hawaii. So it feels really special. And every day we go to the beach, we go to the most amazing restaurants, and we goof around – we have pillow fights – and it’s a lot, a lot of fun,” Spears said.
