Bristol Palin is facing legal troubles after a 2011 altercation with a man in a Los Angeles bar which was allegedly filmed without his consent.

Palin–whose new Lifetime show “Life’s A Tripp” follows her life as a single mom to son Tripp during their stay in L.A. and subsequent move to Alaska–was reportedly riding a mechanical bull in the bar when the man, Stephen Hanks, yelled out some not-so-nice things about her mom, Sarah Palin.

“Did you ride Levi like that? Your mother’s a whore!” Hanks yelled out from the bar.

Bristol promptly marched up to the man and confronted him about his remarks, and a lengthy argument ensued about Sarah Palin’s politics, her character, and whether or not Hanks was a gay man.

Hanks has now filed a lawsuit against both Bristol and Lifetime TV, saying he was unaware that the incident was being filmed and that no one ever approached him to sign a waiver or consent form. He’s also claiming defamation of his character since Palin insinuated that he was gay, and the entire exchange was captured on camera and used to promote her new show, which premieres on June 19th.
