Bradley Cooper, who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor this year, says he already knows who he’ll have on his arm on the red carpet.

The nomination–for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook” opposite Jennifer Lawrence–was just announced last week, but Cooper says he has a standing date: his mom.

“Oh yeah, that was done,” he said. “One night, when I started the profession, [my mom said], ‘If you ever [get nominated], I am the date.'”

Since news broke earlier this month that Cooper is now a single man again, one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors is garnering rumors of a romance with his “Silver Linings” co-star, which he adamantly denies, saying he’s old enough to be her father.

“We’ve done two movies together,” he said. “If it didn’t happen by now, it’s not going to happen.”
