Bobbi Brown will take over as Editor-in-Chief of Yahoo Beauty, the makeup mogul announced Wednesday on her blog, Everything Bobbi.

Brown, the Founder and COO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, said in the statement that Yahoo had been working over the past several months to put together an “all-star editorial team,” which includes Katie Couric, Virginia Heffernan, Matt Bai, and David Pogue.

Yahoo is poised to become the top source for cutting-edge news coverage, and I’m confident I’ll bring similarly strong content to Beauty and Lifestyle coverage. I’m honored to be joining such an impressive roster,” Brown said.

“As EIC, I’ll work to curate smart, strong content that will teach women how to be their best selves. Since 1997, I’ve written and published eight books that explore my beauty philosophy—be pretty, be confident, be who you are. I’m really proud of this work, and I’m so excited to bring these ideas to a broader audience through Yahoo, which has 800 million…active monthly users. That’s a lot of pretty powerful,” Brown said on her blog.

Brown promised to transform the site into a source of beauty tips and empowerment, she said in a statement.

“I get to combine my interest in education and empowerment by curating amazing visual content that will teach women how to be their best selves,” Brown said.

“Beauty is not just about makeup, it’s about lifestyle and confidence,” Brown said.

Brown’s announcement and hire comes after a March 31 report that Yahoo CEO Marissa Meyer plans to shutdown and break apart Yahoo Shine, which had 30 million unique million visitors in January. Mayer appointed Couric as the company’s global anchor in November, and also hired Pogue, Heffernan, and Bai from The New York Times.

Brown will hire and oversee a team of beauty and lifestyle experts, provide editorial direction, and contribute content.

Brown starts her new position as Editor-in-Chief on April 21.
