Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds are preparing for their first child. The baby, who quite possibly could have the best looking parents ever, is due in October. It looks like Lively will have all hands on deck when the little one arrives.
Ryan Reynolds told People Magazine on Saturday at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Benefit that he’s equipped to handle the yuckier side of being a dad. “I don’t have a weak stomach. I’m good with diapers and diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I’ve done it all before.”
Reynolds is looking forward to palling around with his son or daughter, “I’m just excited about having a buddy. We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away.” The 38-year-old added, “For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don’t want to make. I’m at that stage still where I’m focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error.”

Lively and Reynolds met while filming The Green Lantern in 2010. They were married in a small ceremony in September 2012, and announced that they were expecting in October.
The Gossip Girl star is confident that Reynolds will be an attentive dad. She told Vogue last summer, “He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch—he’s so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there.”
