We finally have a release date for Bioshock Infinite. 2K games has announced that the much anticipated title will be released on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 16, 2012. Internationally the title will be available on October 19th, 2012.

Bioshock Infinite is the 3rd installment in the wildly successful Bioshock franchise. The first person shooter puts players in the role of Booker DeWitt, a hard-bitten former Pinkerton agent, together with the revolutionary AI companion, Elizabeth. The two struggle to escape the sky-city of Columbia, in a 1912 America that might have been. Armed with an arsenal of new weapons and abilities, they face menacing enemies, in unique expansive environments.

This world of Bioshock was dreamed up by Irrational Games. The member of the 2K games family is Located near Boston, Massachusetts,and they are widely recognized as one of the industry’s leading game developers. Irrational has earned a reputation for creating story-driven, genre-defining games with award-winning hits like System Shock 2, Freedom Force, and the original BioShock.
