Beverly D’Angelo and Chevy Chase became a part of pop culture forever when they started the “Vacation” series; as Ellen and “Sparky”, they kept us laughing for years with their doomed journeys and dysfunctional family members. Now, the actors are getting ready to reunite for a project on ABC that will see them playing a married couple once again.

Deadline is reporting that the show–which doesn’t have a writer attached to it yet–tells the story of a couple enjoying their 60’s together when they are suddenly forced to raise their grandchildren.

The duo are reportedly also attached to a reboot of the original “Vacation”, which is set to star Ed Helms as Rusty and Christina Applegate as his wife, although the project has been delayed due to a reported friction between the film’s developers about whether it should receive a PG-13 or R rating.

The ABC project will mark Chase’s return to television after his abrupt departure from “Community”, which involved quite a bit of drama after an on-set outburst.

“When I would try [to get him to talk], he would just try to fight me,” Joel McHale told Howard Stern, saying the actor just didn’t want to be there. “He physically wanted to fight me.”

The unnamed project is tentatively set for the 2015-2016 season.
