Ben Stiller may be best known for his Blue Steel look in Zoolander or for having bodily fluids hang off his ear in There’s Something About Mary, but the star’s most successful recent projects have been much more family-friendly.

Despite limited critical praise, Night at the Museum and Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian have been money-makers for 20th Century Fox. The kid-friendly fantasy movies star Ben Stiller as a museum guard who must wrangle exhibits that come alive at night.

The historical cast of characters is played by popular Hollywood actors and comedians, including Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt and Owen Wilson as a diminutive cowboy. This star power and the movies’ light-hearted comedy (written by Reno 911 stars Tom Lennon and Ben Garant) have made Night at the Museum into a successful franchise.

Now, five years after Night at the Museum 2 hit theaters, Fox is gearing up for the release of Night At the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. The movie will once again star Ben Stiller as museum guard Larry Daley, and series regulars such as Robin Williams, Dick Van Dyke, and Ricky Gervais are back again as well. New stars to join the cast include Ben Kingsley, Dan Stevens, and Rebel Wilson.

With movie fans still hungover from this year’s Comic-Con news, Fox this week released the first trailer for Secret of the Tomb.

As seen in the trailer, the lively museum exhibits are in danger of losing their powers, courtesy a failing magic tablet. This time the exhibits will be heading to London, where the solution to their tablet problem presumably lies. According to 20th Century Fox, Secret of the Tomb will be the “wildest” and “most adventure-filled” Night at the Museum movie yet.

For those that are really, really into the Night at the Museum franchise, Fox is hosting a Twitter discussion today on the official Night at the Museum Twitter page. Starting at 12 pm PT Dan Stevens will be on-hand answering questions about the movie and about his new role as Sir Lancelot.
