Barbara Walters Talks About Being Dumped By Lindsay

Barbara Walters has been in the business for a long time, so it’s certain that she’s used to getting her way. One does not simply cancel an interview with Barbara; unless you’re sick or dead, you’re showing up for that sit-down.

Apparently Lindsay Lohan didn’t get the memo. After realizing that Barbara wasn’t going to pull any punches with her questions–and after being advised by her attorneys to pull out after getting into some legal trouble regarding her car accident earlier this year–the 26-year old backed out after sending a lame excuse through her rep.

“‘Why is it canceled?'” Walters said of her conversation with the rep. “‘Lindsay doesn’t feel up to it.’ Well, I mean, she has a lot of problems, and it was just one more. I said, ‘Poor girl, I hope when she feels like it, she will do it with us.'”

Unfortunately, Lohan is also booked to appear on “The Tonight Show” on November 20th to promote her Lifetime film, “Liz & Dick”, and she didn’t back out of that one. Dissing Babs is one thing, but dissing her for Jay Leno? Yikes.

“If they’d said to me ‘You know, Barbara, she isn’t up to the kinds of questions that you might ask’ . . . I wouldn’t feel quite as disappointed as I do today,” Walters said of learning the truth. “I think I would have helped her. I think to go on Jay Leno and be adorable and amusing, there’s still all the problems with her.”
