Baby Einstein products have long been a staple in children’s rooms, from the many books and DVDs aimed at teaching young ones about art and science to the learning toys made for several age groups. But one toy is being recalled after the manufacturer received nearly 100 comlaints, including reports of 61 injuries to children.
The Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper reportedly includes a plastic toy sun on a flexible stalk that can snap back with force and create injury to the child sitting in the seat. One adult reported a chipped tooth from the sun, and at least one child has sustained a head injury. The model number–90564–can be found on a tag beneath the seat. About 400,000 seats in the U.S. and 8,500 in Canada are being recalled. Consumers in possession of the toy can call Kids II at (877) 325-7056 to get a replacement toy.
Only toys made before November of 2011 are included in the recall, and date codes can be found on the tag with the model number. Included codes are OD0, OE0, OF0, OG0, OH0, OI0, OJ0, OK0, OL0, OA1, OB1, OC1, OD1, OE1, OF1, OG1, OH1, OI1, OJ1 and OK1.
