Firecore has announced an update to their popular aTV Flash (black) software for jailbroken Apple TVs. The software packs an impressive array of features that allow users to vastly expand what they can do with their Apple TVs. Users willing to jailbreak their devices and pony up the $29.95 for the software can use it to access all sorts of video content on their computers (not just iTunes compatible files), surf the web, listen to music from Last.fm, create playlists, subscribe to RSS feeds, and even check the weather.

The update, which brings the software to version 1.2, brings with it a host of new features. Some are obvious, some are not, but all together they represent a major upgrade to the software. New features include more zoom options, watched/unwatched indicators in grid view, as well as memory management and UI improvements. The update is free for users already running aTV Flash (black), and can be downloaded from within the app. The video below gives an overview of the software. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.
