  • Kanye West is not a happy man, and recently dissed legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz for pulling out right before their wedding.

While at the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference, where he was sitting in on a panel for “Translation: Technology, Culture, and Consumer Adoption: Learning to Read the Cultural Landscape” on Tuesday, June 17, Kanye voiced his outrage and said that Annie, who shot their April 2014 Vogue cover, decided to cancel the gig at the last second because she was scared.

Kanye isn’t one to keep his mouth shut when something bothers him, so it is no surprise that he took the opportunity to lash out at Annie. “I don’t want to say all these big over-the-top statements that end up getting quoted the wrong way,” West started out by saying.

Kanye revealed that his new wife Kim Kardashian was upset during the honeymoon because they had to spend so much time, four days to be exact, working on their first kiss picture so that it would be suitable to post on Instagram.

“Let me tell you something about that kiss photo that my girl put up … this was pissing my girl off during the honeymoon, she was exhausted because we worked on the photo so much because Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding,” West said. “I was like, ‘Okay, I still want my wedding photos to look like Annie Leibovitz,’ so we sat there and worked on that photo for, like, four days because the flowers were off-color,” West continued.

West went on to explain that his wife is the number one Instagram user, and is very important to the internet, which is why everything had to be absolutely perfect. “Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the No. 1 person on Instagram, ‘We need to work on the color of the flower wall?'” West said. “Or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet?”

Although they had to spare four days of their honeymoon, Kimye’s hard work did pay off. Kim’s post on Instagram became the most-liked photo on a social media site with 2.28 million likes and 51,000 shares. “The fact the No. 1 most-liked photo [on Instagram] has a kind of aesthetic was a win for what the mission is, which is raising the palette,” West added.
