Anna Duggar played an integral role in helping sister-in-law Jessa Duggar Seewald get her labor started, two days after her due date with baby Spurgeon. She explained to Jessa that the method worked when she gave birth to her and Josh Duggar’s third child.

“My sister-in-law Anna told me she walked stairs and that worked with her son Marcus. We walked up and down the stairs together 20 times until I was like, ‘Okay, no more,” Jessa Duggar explains in an interview with People magazine.

While certainly no one can say for sure, Anna Duggar’s method of starting labor might have worked, as Jessa did, in fact, go into labor later that day. Baby Spurgeon Seewald was born on November 5th.

“A couple of hours later, I started having hard contractions,” Jessa says.
