Amy Poehler and Tom Hanks’ complicated past is slowly revealing itself, thanks to Hanks’ recent Tumblr AMA-style question and answer session.

Ok, not really, but the slow burning fake feud he has with Amy Poehler is fun for everyone and more entertaining than most real ones.

It all started when Amy Poehler was hosting the 2014 Golden Globes and (jokingly) mispronounced his name.

Amy Poehler said, “Congratulations to all the wonderful actors nominated tonight. From the amazing Chiwetel Ejiofor to the stunning Lupita Nyong’o to American treasure Tam Honks. Dammit, I know I was going to screw that up.”

Tom Hanks‘ reaction was captured on camera and was a gesticulated “Really?!”

Since then, not much has been said about Amy Poehler’s made up mix-up until Hanks’ Tumblr interview in which one attendant asked him, “Were you really that mad when Amy Poehler called you ‘Tam Honks’ in the 71st Golden Globe Awards?”

To this he replied, “I haven’t spoken to Amy since we broke up in the 80s. We shared a small apartment in Eagle Rock for about six months. Before I met Rita, of course. Amy didn’t like my dog, and she stole some of my good records when she moved out (without so much as a goodbye).”

He added, “I’m happy for her success, but would not walk across the street to say hello to May Epolher, as I know her.”

He went on to answer more questions, but at the end of his session, he closed with, “So long, and Amy, you owe me Running on Empty by Jackson Brown and The Who Live at Leeds.

Amy Poehler has yet to return fire, but when she does it’s sure to be hilarious.
