Amber Heard Joins Johnny Depp at ‘Mortdecai’ Premiere Despite Split Rumors

  • Amber Heard was front and center on the red carpet with Johnny Depp for the premiere of his film Mortdecai despite recent breakup rumors. The two even donned similar outfits for the London event.

The couple smiled for the cameras at Empire Leicester Square, and after a while were joined by Depp’s costar Paul Bettany.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met while filming The Rum Diary back in 2011, and the got engaged in 2014. The rumors began swirling around in December about the two putting their wedding plans on hold–supposedly because of his drunken behavior at an event in November. Depp was drunk when he addressed the audience at the Hollywood Film Awards, which likely didn’t go over really well with his significant other–or probably anyone else, for that matter.

Neither Johnny Depp nor Amber Heard have addressed any of these split rumors, and they certainly appeared very happy together at the Mortdecai premiere.

Johnny Depp stars opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Mortdecai–a film that tells the story of an art dealer (played by Depp) who travels all over the world in search of a stolen painting that supposedly contains the number to a secret Nazi bank account. It opens in U.S. theaters on January 22nd.

If Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are on the outs, they certainly didn’t let that sentiment shine through while walking the Mortdecai red carpet.

Do you suppose the rumors are nothing but conjecture or might there be a bit more to the story–something that will come to light after the hype over Depp’s new film quiets down?
