Allen Iverson, a past NBA star, will soon be announcing his retirement. His decision to make the announcement was just recently finalized and we should expect the news coming from him soon, says emerging reports.

Iverson, one of the greatest guards to ever play for the National Basketball Association, has not played in the NBA since the 2009-2010 season. At that time, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was a member of the NBA for 13 years and averaged 27 points per game during his career.

He won a MVP regular season award and was a 11- time All-Star. During his NBA career, in 1996, he was the number one draft pick out of Georgetown. He has not, however, played basketball since 2011, when he played pro ball in Turkey.

He has five children and recently commented on how they are a top priority in his life. In late March, when asked if he would ever return to the NBA, he replied to the public by saying “My No. 1 goal is trying to accomplish to be the best dad that I can. And if basketball is in my near future, then God will make that happen. But if not, I had a great ride and I’ve done a lot of special things that a lot of guys have not been able to accomplish and people thought I couldn’t accomplish.”

In the past few years, Iverson has also been in and out of court. In January of this year, his divorce with Tawanna Turner was settled. They knew each other since high school and were married since 2001. She is the mother of his children.

Since the divorce was filed in March of 2010, it has been brought up in the news that Allen Iverson has struggled with finances. His Atlanta mansion was sold in a foreclosure auction this past February.

Although he has had a bumpy past few years, he will long be remembered as a legend in the NBA world. Could he possibly even be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame?!
