Before trying out the marketing strategy of weird, annoying trailers, 2K Games was putting out regular live-action story trailers for its upcoming The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The trailers featured Dominic Monaghan (Merry from Lord of the Rings) as XCOM Agent Cole, who was very upset about a certain “Pima Incident” and runs into a trap in a later video. Another live action video showed the main character from The Bureau, Agent William Carter, performing an “enhanced interrogation” on what is presumably an extraterrestrial.

Today’s live-action The Bureau trailer combines pieces from all of the previous videos. The result of the Pima Incident teased in the very first trailer for The Bureau is seen as the total destruction of a normal midwestern American town in the 60s. Cole’s fate is revealed, and Carter steps up to his responsibility to cover up the incident, and aliens are finally seen.

Oh, and the creepy clown is back, too.
