Alice Eve, probably best known for her role as Carol Marcus in the film Star Trek Into Darkness, majorly dissed Bruce Jenner following his interview with Diane Sawyer on 20/20 Friday night.

The actress has since removed her hurtful remarks–initially posted on Instagram–but Hollywood Life quotes her in a recent article.

“If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can’t compete in the decathlon. You wouldn’t be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who hasn’t given a chance,” the Star Trek star wrote on Instagram. “Until women are paid the same as men, then playing at being a “woman” while retaining the benefits of being a man is unfair. Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman,” Alice Eve wrote in the since-removed post.

Her comments enraged many people. Shortly after her Bruce Jenner diss was posted, hundreds stopped following Alice Eve on Instagram. Some even called her ‘transphobic.’

That’s when the actress started backpedaling. But do you think it was too little, too late?

“I do agree that the struggle for transgenders is unique and horrific. However, I do want to also support a cause I strongly believe in, the right for women to have equal rights to men. The transgender equality struggle is the next one, as we all know. And very real it is, too,” she later posted.

That statement has also disappeared from Alice Eve’s Instagram account.

Alice Eve shared a new Instagram post on Monday. Is this supposed to make up for her previous unkind words?

“#OneLove,” she captioned her post.

Hollywood Life captured some of the comments followers of Alice Eve (they might not be followers any longer) wrote after her first and second Instagram posts.

“Your comments about Jenner proved otherwise,” one user wrote. “I’ve always adored you, but I can honestly say I’ll be avoiding your work from now on. I have a trans* sibling and on amount of apologies can make up for what you said.”

Another commenter shared, “If you believe in what you said so much then why the need to delete the post and show this? You one it was going to create criticism and instead of leaving the post up you felt the need to delete it.”

What’s your take on Alice Eve and her slamming Bruce Jenner? Is she uninformed, rude, or simply transphobic?

Do you suppose Alice Eve is now wishing she’d kept her comments to herself?
