Adam Levine has apparently been harboring a grudge against iconic L.A. club The Roxy, and a performance on “The Voice” brought up so many bad memories that he went on an odd rant about it during the show.
A cover of a Michelle Branch song started the entire thing:
“I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn’t even give us a dressing room. I hate the Roxy. I’ll never play there again,” Levine said after Cassadee Pope covered Branch’s “Are You Happy Now?” “They screwed us over,” he continued. “And now they’re paying for it.”
The Roxy must have been watching, because they took to Twitter to call him out on it.
Ummm, what was that about? cc: @adamlevine
We have officially named our dressing room after @AdamLevine 😉 http://t.co/prl70PNk#teamroxy#thevoice
When Michelle Branch heard about Levine’s comments, she rushed to the club’s defense, saying it was more than likely not their fault that the band didn’t get a dressing room. As of now, Levine has had no comment on The Roxy’s Twitter posts.
