Who doesn’t want to watch an action-packed motion picture about the legendary Abraham Lincoln battling legions of blood-sucking vampires? If there is such a person on the planet, I don’t think we would be very good friends. The trailer for “Wanted” director Timur Bekmambetov’s upcoming effort “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” has apparently received mixed reactions. People who I thought would love the concept claim they have no interest in seeing the film, a fact that almost brings a tear to my eye. After all, the film features Abraham Lincoln fighting vampires with an axe. How could this possibly go wrong?
Regarding the plot, this is what you’re going to get:
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.
“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” stars Benjamin Walker, Alan Tudyk, Anthony Mackie, Rufus Sewell, Erin Wasson, Dominic Cooper, and the adorable Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The film opens in North American theaters on June 22nd, in your choice of 2D or 3D.
