In the 19 Kids and Counting family, parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have implemented the notion of courting over dating. Courting is designed to determine if a girlfriend or boyfriend is a suitable life partner--much in the way Amish families implement the form of dating. Since the Duggar family members are devout Christians, it's no surprise that Marjorie Jackson comes from a strict Christian family as well.
At 17 years old, Marjorie is one year younger than Josiah Duggar. Her family has known the Duggar family for several years. Marjorie and Josiah met while he was taking Spanish lessons at her family's house. She caught Josiah's eye during a mission trip to El Salvador this past December.

Marjorie Jackson is the oldest of five daughters. Her sisters are 15, eight, five, and two years old.
The 19 Kids and Counting family will gain a very talented member, should Josiah and Marjorie's courtship lead to marriage. She is bilingual in English and Spanish because of her mother Analucia's heritage. Marjorie is also an accomplished pianist and actress and has even written a book that encourages young ladies to read the Bible.
As she nears the end of high school, Marjorie has also been taking college-level graphic design classes. Her dad Greg is a graphic designer.
"I really appreciate the Duggar family," Marjorie said in a recent interview. "I respect and admire them. I will just take this one step at a time."
Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson will share a special message with 19 Kids and Counting fans on tonight's (Tuesday, April 14th) episode of the show.
