YouTube announced on its blog yesterday that it is adding a Shows page for Korean viewers. The page will organize the wide variety of Korean television shows made available on YouTube.
Korean programming available on the new Shows page ranges from recent comedy game show Infinite Challenge (무한도전) to the 2005 drama classic My Lovely Sam Soon (내 이름은 김삼순). The country’s three main terrestrial broadcasters — KBS, MBC, and SBS — are all well represented on YouTube, and many cable shows are available as well. The programs’ episodes are often divided into clips, but those clips are synced to autoplay in the correct order.
If you’re a Korean TV fan in another country, though, sorry about your luck — the Shows page is only available in Korea. Many of the programs are still available at YouTube’s Shows/Other-Languages Page, often with subtitles in English, Spanish, and other languages. YouTube notes that because of licensing restrictions, not all programs are available in all countries.
