Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe have accepted plea deals in the charges leveled against them, which could earn them 21-46 months in prison. But according to RadarOnline, Teresa is hoping to serve her time--should she receive any--at home.
Giudice pleaded guilty to four charges out of a combined 41 against the both of them: conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bankruptcy fraud by concealment of assets, bankruptcy fraud by false oaths and bankruptcy fraud by false declarations. Joe pleaded guilty to those same charges, plus a charge of failing to file a tax return. The reality show couple initially claimed innocence when charges were first announced last year.
Teresa, who is the mother of four children, is reportedly hoping for house arrest when the judge comes back with a sentence in July. Joe Giudice faces not just a prison sentence, but also deportation as he is an Italian citizen.
“Before Teresa is formally sentenced by the judge, she will meet with the United States Probation Department and a report will be prepared. The report will outline recommendations for sentencing for the judge to consider and one of those items will include if house arrest is suitable for Teresa. The fact that she has four children and is the breadwinner for the family will drastically help her when it comes to determining if house arrest is appropriate. You can count on Teresa to plead her case to the judge during her sentencing hearing… She really hopes to serve her prison sentence at home because the idea of going to prison absolutely terrifies her," a source said.
“I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family–especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world. Beyond this, I do not intend to speak specifically about the case outside of court, at the recommendation of my attorney and out of deference to the Government and our legal system," Teresa said in a statement earlier this week.
