William Shatner is due a raise, a bonus, or both.  This afternoon, Priceline – which has wisely used Shatner as its spokesman for years – posted its third-quarter earnings report, and it seems the company has lots more money to spread around than analysts expected.

Priceline has announced it is offering price guarantees for all of its airline tickets and vacation packages as part of a spring travel promotion for all bookings made through June 1.

Recently a number of other online travel agencies have offered similar promotions including Orbitz and Expedia’s Hotwire.com.

Priceline.com has some good things going for it.  First, William Shatner stars in the travel the company’s commercials.  Second, it’s an "Internet Top Pick," according to investment bank and securities firm Piper Jaffray.

Online travel companies say that potential travelers looking to book a cruise are more comfortable talking to human sales people than just purchasing costly trips on the Internet.
