International police organization INTERPOL announced today it has launched a website featuring a database of global stolen artwork.

The move is part of the agency’s effort to combat the illicit trade of stolen artwork.

In a superficial way, here’s one for the conspiracy theorists and pissed-off privacy advocates: One World Trust placed Google below Interpol – and indeed, at the very bottom of a list – in terms of accountability.

More than seven Web sites showing images of child sexual abuse are reported to police every 24 hours according to the UK based Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).
