YouTube Comedy Contest Announced

As everyone who's watched "The Boondock Saints" can appreciate, it's hard to be funny on demand. YouTube isn't so much demanding humor as offering users the opportunity to provide it, however, and although the deadline of a just-announced contest isn't too far off, the winner will get $25,000 for his (or her) trouble.
U.S. Doodle 4 Google Contest Begins

First off: this contest is for kids. But if you're an adult with a kid, keep reading, because the winning child will receive a $10,000 college scholarship. Now, pray that you've done enough to encourage the kid's artistic abilities, because the contest involves creating a Google Doodle.
A Hundred Grand for Building a Search Engine

Singapore has launched a contest for developing a next-generation multi-media online search engine. The contest has allowed for eight months time to build the engine and the reward is a 100,000 US dollar cash prize, as has been reported at Physorg.
Google Expands Contests to Pre-College Kids

Building on the success of the Summer of Code Contests, Google has expanded the contests to now include the pre-College community.
The contest is open to students age 13 and older who have not yet begun university studies, and contestants will be able to claim tasks until 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on January 22, 2008.
We hope that students who participate will be long-term contributors to these and other open source projects in the future, and we look forward to announcing the grand-prize winners on February 11.
Google Goofs Up "Bourne," Threadless Contests?

Google’s “Bourne Ultimatum” and Threadless t-shirt contests both looked like fun - and potentially rewarding - activities, but they’ve (so far) failed to impress. The Bourne site is suffering from a number of technical problems; the Threadless competition appears to have outlawed a perfectly natural course of action.
