A Brooklyn woman says she bit into her McDonald’s chicken sandwich one day in 2010 only to taste a piece of glass–which she says was bigger than a penny–and that it has ruined her singing voice.

Jaqueline Simpson says she was a soprano for a gospel group and can no longer hit the notes she used to be able to. She also says her speaking voice was affected and is suing the company for an undisclosed amount.

“Now when I sing, I have a hoarse, rattly voice,” she told the New York Post. “I still sing alto, but I can’t sing soprano like I used to.”

McDonald’s has had no comment on the matter, but they are in litigation with several other people all over the world, including a Brazil organization that claimed the restaurant was advertising unhealthy food to children and a woman and her 4-year old grandchild, who claim the child received second-degree burns after touching a hot cup.

I don’t understand why people wait so long to file suit. This happened happened 3 years ago. Regardless of wheter or not her voice was not affected until now – the glass in the food should have been addressed immediately. Seems like an afterthought law suit.

She supposedly bit into a chicken sandwich with a piece of glass bigger than a penny. Obviously she didn’t swallow it, so how the heck does this effect her singing voice. To get a “ratty” sound she’d have had to cut her throat. IF it cut her tongue, and the article doesn’t say it did, I can see it hurting like the dickens and possibly effecting speech sounds if it was a bad enough cut BUT, why wait THREE YEARS! Media loves to stick it to businesses, so if there was dramatic details like spurting blood and runs to the hospital to back this story up, I’m sure they’d have posted it. Something just doesn’t sound right with this. Maybe she’s tired of working and decided this is a good way to retire.
