Malware aimed at infecting iPhones can also compromise the iPad, according to a new report from PandaLabs.

Google Search By Voice Introduces Support For Korean

An estimated 80 million or so people speak Korean worldwide, and starting today, it should be possible for them to conduct searches on Google without lifting a finger.  Google Search by voice now supports the Korean language.

Obviously, this is an important step forward since it may make Google more popular with a large number of people.  Even Korean-speaking individuals who are also familiar with other languages should appreciate the opportunity to conduct searches in their native tongue.

Google And Apple Trusted More Than Facebook And Twitter

Nearly half (49%) of U.S. adults trust Apple, Microsoft and Google, according to a new Zogby Interactive survey.

Twitter and Facebook were rated much lower, with trust levels of 8 percent and 13 percent respectively.

Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and Google are all more trusted than traditional media, which had a trust level of 8 percent.

Yahoo Releases PlaceFinder to Spread Location Awareness

Yahoo has announced the public release of Yahoo PlaceFinder, a web service providing multi-language global geocoding of named places, that replaces the Yahoo Maps Geocoding API.

Google Voice Now Open to Everyone

Google has finally opened Google Voice up to the public, and no longer requires users to have an invitation to use it. There are already over a million people using it, the company says, and that number is about to increase dramatically.

Sears And Kmart Ready Online Movie Service

Sonic Solutions said today it has entered into an agreement with Sears to provide consumers access to entertainment on a range of Internet connected devices including TVs, Blu-ray players, and mobile phones.

Under the multi-year agreement, Sears has licensed Sonic Solutions’ RoxioNow platform, which will power digital entertainment delivery services for both Sears and Kmart. The new services will launch later this year and will be promoted at retail stores nationwide.

Google Voice Challenged By Patent Suit

Frontier Communications, a communications provider with a market cap of around $2.4 billion, is not happy with Google.  In fact, Frontier is dissatisfied to the point that it sued the search giant this morning, claiming that Google Voice infringes on a patent it holds.

This isn’t a question of whether or not some minor feature bears a faint similarity to a concept Frontier dreamed up.  Frontier is instead going after one of Google Voice’s biggest draws, and the patent it’s put forward isn’t nearly as vague and all-encompassing as some we’ve seen.
