  • This current season (17) of the ABC dance reality hit Dancing With The Stars has included quite a few A-list celebrities judging its panel lately. First, it was dancing-belle-turned-country-singer Julianne Hough, world-renowned pop singer Cher, and for this upcoming week’s show, the “bad boy of the ballroom” Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

According to Yahoo OMG!, Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be joining the judging panel on Dancing With The Stars‘ semi-final performance show. With Chmerkovskiy joining the panel, he will be accompanied by the three other regularly attending judges: Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie-Ann Anaba. The remaining stars that Chmerkovskiy will be judging are: Amber Riley, Bill Engvall, Corbin Bleu, Jack Osbourne and Leah Remini.

Chmerkovskiy also announced that he will be judging on Dancing With The Stars on Twitter in an usual “Maks”-kind of way.

The “bad boy of the ballroom” has been on a hiatus from the show for two seasons (according to Yahoo! OMG), because he wanted to “pursue different opportunities.” These opportunities included being involved with the Broadway production of Forever Tango. In response to his hiatus, Chmerkovskiy told CBS News the following:

“I never walked away, slammed the door…and said, ‘I’m never coming back.’ I think eight years of doing something — the type of person I am, I am not gonna be there until they tell us the show is off air and we’re done with it, or until I feel like I can’t dance anymore.”

The CBS article also states that Monday’s show will be comprised of the remaining couples dancing a Jazz, Paso Doble, Tango, or Cha Cha performance as their first routine, and then a Viennese Waltz, Argentine Tango, or Rumba as their second routine of the show.
