All you 24 fans will have to wait no longer. Kiefer Sutherland is set to reprise his role as Jack Bauer in Fox's 12-hour reboot of 24: Live Another Day that will premiere in May 2014.
During the Television Critics Association press conference on Monday in Pasadena, California, Sutherland talked about how he is frightened that this season won't be as good as the eight strong years they completed in 2010.
"I used to get terrified in between each season," Sutherland said. "...I feel we made eight very strong years. There was something every year we wished was better but I was very proud of what we did. So to open that up again — and not make them the best 12 we’ve ever made, it’s frightening. I won’t lie, I’m very nervous. Until we start shooting, it’s intangible so I’m as anxious and wound up as I’ve been in a long time."
Along with the 12 new episodes, fans will be happy to know that their is still talks of a 24 film. When Sutherland was asked if the miniseries would have a similar plot to the film, he replied: "The script for the film was very, very different. The film's an ongoing situation. There's always an opportunity to do that, but Howard came up with an idea of a 12-episode run of this and it was an opportunity that presented itself to us first. It was a fantastic idea…if this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it."
24: Live Another Day will premier on May 5, 2014 on Fox.
