  • Hunger Games fans were given a little tease for the latest movie in the trilogy Mockingjay today when a trailer for the movie was released.

In the snippet, it reveals a creepy President Snow addressing the citizens of Panem in a message that airs on Capitol TV.

Snow is dressed all in white, sitting in a white chair against a white backdrop, all matching his crisp white beard, natch.

He gives the citizens a message, one that is seemingly encouraging, but takes on a chilling and forceful tone.

It starts out pleasant, if not ironic, enough:

“Ours is an elegant system, conceived to nourish and protect,” President Snow says into the camera.

Of course he’s speaking to impoverished people whose districts he rules from the wealthy Capitol.

He’s also referring to a system that forces children to fight to the death each year as punishment for an uprising that occurred long ago, and to prevent one from happening again.

The message gets chilling and threatening towards the end.

“If you resist the system, you starve yourself,” Snow warns. “If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.” he states as the camera pans out and reveals Katniss’ ally Peeta Mellark, who was captured in the last film Catching Fire standing beside him.

Snow is speaking about the impending rebellion that viewers saw briefly at the end of Catching Fire. The movie ended with Katniss being taken away to District 13, along with Finnick, Beetee, Gale, and her mentor Haymitch after the Hunger Games end and her hometown of District 12 was destroyed.

Fans will have to wait until November 21 to see the entire movie. The Hunger Games movies are based off of the best-selling Hunger Games trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins. The last book in the trilogy, Mockingjay, is split into two movies, with this trailer tease for the first.
