Gia Giudice is demonstrating incredible resilience after her mother, Teresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, entered prison early Monday morning.

The 13-year-old's mom began her 15-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud after turning herself in at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut shortly after 3 a.m. Monday.

As for Gia, she is remaining positive and sharing her thoughts — as well as the support she is receiving from friends and fans via social media — on her Twitter page.

The 3KT singer reportedly spent her last few hours with her mom on Sunday going to church with her family and celebrating her 14th birthday, which is on Jan. 8, a little early.

“They had a birthday party for Gia,” a source told Us Weekly. “They had a cake and a celebration.”

Joe Giudice will care for Gia, Gabriella, 10, Milania, eight, and Audriana, five, while Teresa completes her time behind bars. He will serve his own 41-month sentence once Teresa returns home.

Even though it must be incredibly difficult for the Giudice kids to be without their mom and with the knowledge that their dad will have to leave them sometime next year, Gia is proving to be very brave and strong.

"My family is probably one of the strongest families I know, so we’ll get through this," Gia told Access Hollywood recently. "It’s gonna be fine. And when it’s over, we’re gonna be better than ever."
