Since its reveal last year, we've become very well acquainted with Dying Light. The new game from Dead Island developers Techland looks to combine the zombie hordes of Dead Island with the free-running found in Mirror's Edge. The developers want you to know it's more than that though.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Dying Light producer Tymon Smektala says that Dying Light is more than just killing zombies. It's a game that wants to explore how humanity copes after an epidemic brings an entire city to its knees. He stresses that zombies are just humans who have succumbed to an infection. They're not monsters and the game will hammer this point home as players will most likely be faced with various moral dilemmas.
It's in that sense that the latest trailer for Dying Light is very similar to the first trailer for Dead Island. In that trailer, we get to see the last moments of a family trying to save their daughter after she's bitten by a zombie. It was absolutely heartbreaking and something the actual game never lived up to. Let's hope Dying Light is up to the task this time around.
Dying Light will launch later this year for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
