David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are officially divorced.

The couple quietly finalized their divorce in June and reports are only now emerging about the end of the couple’s marriage. According to TMZ, who broke the story, the divorce was filed in June and the two settled all the terms themselves.

It was Duchovny, 54, who filed for the divorce, citing an irretrievable breakdown of the relationship.

The couple will share legal custody of their 12-year-old son, Kyd Miller, and 15-year-old daughter, Madelaine West, although they will reside with the 48-year-old actress. The Califonication star owns a nearby apartment in the Upper West Side of New York City, so he will remain close to the kids.

Duchovny will reportedly pay $40K per month in spousal support and $8,333 per month in child support, as well as other expenses including summer camp, private school and college.

The couple met at The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and married in 1997. They separated in 2008 when Duchovny was treated for sex addiction, and after a reconciliation following his rehab stint, they separated once again in 2011.

Duchovny will continue to keep busy with work. With the end of Californication on HBO, the The X-Files alum will return to broadcast television this fall with the NBC series Aquarius.

“After being involved in the production of both The X-Files and Californication, it gives me great pleasure to work with David Duchovny for the third time on this compelling drama,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, of Duchovny’s casting in the new series that centers around Charles Manson.

As for Leoni, she will return to television starring as Secretary of State Elizabeth Faulkner McCord in the CBS political drama Madam Secretary.

Californication is on Showtime, not HBO. Great editors!

I have no problem what so ever with Duchovny paying child support, but to have to pay a women in this day and age $40,000 a month alimony, as if it is the 1950’s, when women could not work or support themselves is clearly why Divorce Laws need to be addressed by Men as an issue for equality. This women has money of her own and just as women don’t believe they should have to support a man, a man should not have to support a women who has a viable means of support. Those who do not should be paid Alimony only until she can earn her own way again. And that should be for no more than 5 Yrs. Come on men, Free yourselves, as well as, women want to free themselves.
