No worries, Brooklynites; I don’t have knowledge of any deadly blood-borne diseases that turn people into brain-eating monsters. I do happen to know, however, that the sixth annual NYC Zombie Crawl is coming your way on Sunday, and more than a few of them will be armed with beer, so watch out for that.

The event starts at Trash Bar at 3:30 p.m. and is just five bucks if you want to be zombiefied via makeup. The walk will make its way through the streets of Brooklyn and will end in an after party at Public Assembly (there’s a $12 cover charge for zombies, $15 for everyone else), where it’s assumed that several drunken renditions of the Thriller dance will commence.

Through a resurgence in recent years of zombie popularity via television and books, people everywhere are making their zombie-love known with crawls, artwork, and are even incorporating them into safety training, such as the Center for Disease Control’s blog post which gives preparedness information on what to do in case of a zombie apocalypse (turns out it comes in handy for pretty much any disaster).

If you’re a zombie lover in Brooklyn, head out to the crawl on Sunday and take lots of pictures. Also, be prepared to be shot with a Super-Soaker blast of fake blood.
