Twitter's Nicole Wong Is Your New U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer

Twitter's Nicole Wong will be leaving her position at Twitter and joining the White House as Deputy Chief Technology Officer.

According to the White House, Wong will we primarily focused on internet privacy and other technology issues.

"Wong has tremendous expertise in these domains and an unrivaled reputation for fairness, and we look forward to having her on our team,” said the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy in a statement.

Wong most recently served as Twitter's legal director of products. She'll be the country's top advisor on privacy and tech, assisting U.S. Chief Technology Officer Todd Park.

Wong has long been involved with the legal side of tech. She previously held the titles of Deputy General Counsel at Google, and was behind Google's product and regulatory issues.

She confirmed her departure from Twitter with a tweet:
