In December Twitter announced that they were launching a simplified interface. The new design started out on Twitter’s mobile interface, both on the web and on Twitter’s official iOS and Android apps. At the same time it was rolled out to a selection of web users. That number has gradually increased in the two months since the initial announcement. Now the new Twitter design is live for all web users.
The new layout, announced today on Twitter’s blog, comes with several helpful new features. It includes the ability to embed any tweet, as well as several handy keyboard shortcuts. It also brings new discovery and connection features, as well as redesigned brand pages.
Of course, whenever any site – especially a social media site – changes anything, some users are incensed. Twitter’s new layout is no different. While many either like it or are indifferent, those who hate it are far from shy about declaring their loathing. Check out some of the reactions below:
I really don’t like this new Twitter -____-
I don’t hate the new Twitter, but I do hate that there’s no longer a dark line to separate old and new tweets when you pull the new ones in.
This new Twitter layout is like reading a book that’s entirely right justified.
Twitter, you have failed to impress me with your new layout.
New twitter is horrible! i hate it!
So basically the new twitter is just normal twitter but flipped around…
Ew. Ew. No. So THIS is the new Twitter? Nope. Don’t like it.
What do you think of the new Twitter? Love it? Hate it? Don’t care? Let us know in the comments.
