Tracy Morgan is reportedly in intensive care on Saturday following his limo’s involvement in a fatal car pileup.
According to police, the actor/comedian was riding in a limousine when the vehicle became one of six vehicles involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike.
The series of crashes occurred on the area of the turnpike located near the Cranbury Township at about 1:00 am on Saturday.
The Associated Press reported that there were six others riding with Morgan in the limousine.
In addition to the limo, the other vehicles involved in the multi-vehicle pileup include two tractor-trailers, two cars, and an SUV. An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently ongoing.

According to a statement given by Sgt. First Class Greg Williams, one person was killed as a result of the accident. The fatal crash occurred in the northbound lanes near the 71.5 mile marker. The person’s identity has not yet been released to the public.
The identity of Morgan was revealed by a spokesman for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center.
It was confirmed that a man was checked into the New Brunswick, New Jersey hospital under the name “Tracy Morgan”. The patient was listed as in critical condition, though nothing beyond that has been shared with members of the press.

As the situation is currently developing, there is limited information as to the state of various injuries caused during the devastating series of car crashes.
Authorities stated that following the pileup, the New Jersey turnpike was closed for a period of approximately five hours. It was reopened to motorists at around 6:30 am.

Fans of Morgan know the comedic actor for his roles on hit shows like Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. Morgan said that he began to do comedy as a teen in order to help support his family.
