After blasting the Miami Dolphins defense with 517 yards passing and four touchdowns while leading his New England Patriots to a 38-24 win, the morning belongs to Tom Brady. All of the sports outlets, blogs and mainstream media, are buzzing, as is the world of Twitter. It should be noted, however, not all of the Twitter buzz concerning Brady is due to his ripping of the Dolphins.
There’s also the situation of Brady’s new Ugg’s commercial, which, while being well done, is still an object of scorn. Normally, when one thinks of Ugg’s, thoughts of college co-eds in yoga pants and fuzzy boots come to mind. You know, something like this:

So when the Tom Brady/Ugg’s partnership was announced, it was met with some humor. Nevertheless, that didn’t deter Brady from rocking them out in his new commercial:
As indicated, Brady is trending on Twitter at the moment, and part of the trend is reacting to his great game against the Dolphins, while others are trying to clown Brady for wearing Ugg’s. Even ESPN personalities are not above cracking jokes at the NFL’s golden boy:
alright tweeps, for a later debate, does tom brady need to turn in his man card for the ugg ad? you tell me….
http://t.co/saTHwgH (would any guy actually buy UGGs now that Brady is advertising them??)
How UGG Got Its Y Chromosome BackHowever, a valid counterpoint to the Ugg’s hubbub was offered:
@jaycrawfordespn throwing 517 yards in the NFL makes up for all the borderline girly other stuff he does
Which parlays quite well into all the Twitter love Brady has been receiving:
Tom Brady is the 11th QB in NFL history to record a 500-yard passing game
Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady? Hill on ESPN said Rodgers….. no.
Um, Dave, that could very easily be a “yes.” Rodgers is no slouch, either. The Brady love continues:
Tom Brady is the best qb in the league
But not everyone is down with “let’s love Tom Brady for life” movement:
Man. I. HATE. Tom. Brady. to. death
While that sentiment is understandable, especially from non-Patriots fans, the following line of thinking is ruling the day, at least in the name of Tom Brady:
It’s 9:30am. Tom Brady just completed another pass.
What about you? Would you, as a male, buy Ugg’s now that Tom Brady’s their male spokesperson? For those of you who have Brady in your fantasy league, I hope you enjoyed your first week victory.
