Tara Reid has never been shy about showing off her assets, but the 39-year old actress recently decided to show more than a bikini allows and went nude in a photo she posted to Instagram on New Year’s Eve.
Reid appears relaxed in the photo, laid back in a hammock with a bright smile as she covers herself with her hands. She also shared pics of herself and her boyfriend vacationing in Mexico over the holidays, which garnered harsh reviews from fans and critics who accused her of altering her image to appear even thinner than she already is.
The Sharknado actress has been criticized in the past for her appearance, with some wondering if she was battling an eating disorder when her weight dropped significantly. However, she said in a 2008 interview that her body was changing due to her film roles.
“I’m not too thin. I go up 10 pounds, I do down 10 pounds. I was thin for a movie that I just finished…Now they’re going to see me and say I’m too fat because I’ve gained 10 pounds…I can’t win!” she told OK Magazine.
Reid has been judged harshly by the media over the years, with stories of her partying ways spreading around the web like wildfire just a few years ago. Back then, she spoke out about what it was like to have her every move scrutinized and said she wasn’t the wild party girl she was made out to be.
“If I have a drink in my hand, it doesn’t make me an alcoholic. If I want a glass of wine, I want a glass of wine. I shouldn’t be afraid of it because of what the media might say. Anything you do, you’re screwed. That’s the lesson I’ve learned,” she said.
