Eva Amurri Martino, Susan Sarandon’s daughter, recently announced that she was expecting, and will be making Sarandon a first-time grandmother.
On February 14, Eva announced that she was pregnant, and then she revealed that she was having a girl, on March 6. Sarandon explained that she is excited for a new baby to be welcomed into the family, but said it won’t feel real until the baby is finally here.
“I think that even when I was having a baby myself and even after I had two babies myself, that you can’t even grasp the reality of it until that baby is there,” Sarandon told Us Weekly on Friday.
“So even though we’re very excited and the sonograms are beautiful and we’ve been shopping, it’s still — I don’t think you actually understand until there’s a human being there. So we’re still in that kind of state, but we’re very excited.”
Susan is already helping Eva prepare for the babies arrival, and even bought her a birthday present geared toward the new edition. “We bought this gliding chair,” Susan said. “I had used a rocking chair, but now they have these chairs that glide. You can sleep in it practically. So that’s what she got for her birthday from me.”
Eva and her husband Kyle Martino revealed the gender of their baby, via Twitter, by saying: “Who run the world? GIRLS! #BabyGirlMartino.”
