Journalist Dan Nguyen has produced a site that helps users identify where legislators stand on SOPA/PIPA and organize them in several different ways. SOPA Opera divides members of Congress broadly into supporters and opponents. From there they can be further organized by party, whether they serve in the House or Senate, home state, and more. One of the more interesting features is the one that organizes them by campaign contributions from the media and internet industries. Clicking on a legislator’s name brings up a profile that includes contact information, financial contributions by industry, and a timeline of that person’s statements on SOPA/PIPA. Here are a couple of examples of legislator profiles:

Dan Nguyen (pronounced “Danwin”) is a journalist and web developer at ProPublica. He created SOPA Opera after discovering that it was surprisingly difficult to find information on who supports SOPA/PIPA. He intended the site – which was originally hosted independently, then moved to ProPublica – to be an easy-to-use guide to SOPA/PIPA’s supporters and opponents.
