Selena Gomez is yet another of the early 20-somethings who openly admits to having questioned her sexuality. The 23-year-old is on a whirlwind tour, promoting her new album, “Revival,” and she appears topless on its cover. It’s easy to recognize she’s comfortable with her sexuality, and has grown from a Disney Channel icon into a super sexy pop star.

“Oh, I think everybody does, no matter who they are,” she says of questioning her sexuality, in a recent interview with PrideSource. “I do, yeah, of course. Absolutely. I think it’s healthy to gain a perspective on who you are deep down, question yourself and challenge yourself; it’s important to do that.”

Her open-mindedness about her sexuality stems from stems from her upbringing.

“You have to understand: my mother is absolutely fantastic and she worked at a modeling agency when I was a very young girl, so every Sunday I would have brunch with her and all of her gays, and I just remember a lot of mimosas,” she told the website. “It was the best. So, I’ve been around it my whole life and, you know, I love it. I have to tell you: on my 16th birthday, my mom had a bunch of drag queens come out and they sang ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’ and it was sooo funny.”

In 2014, Selena Gomez joined pal Cara Delevingne–who is openly bisexual–for a trip to the French Riviera. Speculation about a romance between the two went viral.

“Honestly, I loved it,” she says of the rumors. “I didn’t mind it, especially because they weren’t talking about other people in my life for once, which was wonderful.”

“Honestly, though, she’s incredible and very open and she just makes me open,” Selena Gomez added of Cara Delevingne. “She’s so fun and she’s just extremely adventurous, and sometimes I just want that in my life, so I didn’t mind it. I loved it.”

Reflected in the songs on “Revival,” Selena Gomez has truly come into her own–sexually, musically, and emotionally. She is a power to be reckoned with in the music world–and one who will likely be around for a long time.
