Sarah Hyland of Modern Family fame walked the red carpet at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Hollywood premiere Monday night. She shared her excitement about the film on the red carpet–and she also shared a kiss with boyfriend Dominic Sherwood.

“I love Star Wars,” Sarah Hyland, 25, said while chatting with People magazine at the premiere. “I was introduced to it early on, so I don’t even remember exactly how old I was. I’m a fan of the originals though. They are my favorite.”

“Carrie Fisher for me was carrying the torch from Katharine Hepburn on into the generation that I grew up watching,” she continued. “I love, love, love women like that. She’s a kick in the pants, man – still to this day. I love her so much. I love people like Debbie Reynolds and Katharine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn and all those fantastic women. I think Carrie Fisher’s just a part of that as well. I just think it’s so great.”

As for Dominic Sherwood, he’s a fan, but not as big a Star Wars fan as Sarah Hyland.

“I wouldn’t camp out. I’m not that guy,” he said. “But I’m definitely not a casual fan. You could ask me stuff and I would know, but I’m definitely not the crazy, trying to build my own lightsaber at home fan.”

Sarah Hyland and Dominic Sherwood confirmed their relationship back in March. The two are living together, and Hyland is getting into the Christmas spirit.

“I’ll go out and do something and the whole house looks like a Christmas festival,” Sherwood said, while Hyland added that her living room is “kind of a winter wonderland” right now.

“I have, like, a flocked Christmas tree. It’s all like silver and white and lavender. It’s an interesting, different take on Christmas, but I like it,” she added.
