Sarah Hyland looked amazing at the 2014 Emmy Awards, and the smile on her face sure didn’t let anyone know that she had just broken up with her boyfriend of five years.

Hyland had been dating Matt Prokop and at one time said that she felt as if they were married instead of dating.

The couple lived together and shared a dog.

After being with someone for over five years, you might think a breakup would be a hard thing to deal with.

Hyland however, has taken it rather well and didn’t seem to be upset about it at all.

A source close to Hyland said that the split was amicable and that the couple plans to remain friends.

“She is having a good time right now. They thought they would be better off as friends,” a source told E! Online. “It was amicable.”

Hyland is one of the stars of Modern Family, which won Outstanding Comedy Series for the fifth year in a row.

Hyland obviously enjoyed herself at the Emmys, and shared photos of her experience on Twitter. After the Emmys, Hyland attended the HBO after-party with pals and appeared to be in a “very good mood,” said an eyewitness.

Hyland didn’t even bring up her split from Prokop and likely just wants the world to focus on the Emmy win instead of her relationship.
