Veteran news anchor Sam Donaldson was pulled over and arrested earlier this month in Denver for driving under the influence, according to TMZ.
It happened in Denver when he veered off the road and onto the shoulder, then failed a sobriety test administered by an officer. He will have to return to Delaware–from his home state of Virginia–to face his court date.
Donaldson began his national news career with ABC in 1967, although before that he worked with local stations after ending his military service. He became highly-regarded in the world of media, covering almost every major political convention over the span of his career.
