  • Ever wonder how celebrities go so long on the road without seeing their children? Ricky Martin doesn’t have that problem. He likes to take his kids with him on the road and says that it gives them stability and allows him to be the dad he wants to be.

Ricky has been traveling as a singer since he was a young teenager and understands how traveling can affect children in a positive way. By traveling with their father, Ricky Martin’s twin boys get to see the world, experience different cultures, try new food and of course, make memories.

“My pants are made out of Velcro. So they just stick to me everywhere I go,” he joked.

“A lot of people say, ‘But Rick, kids, they need stability.’ I’m their stability. They were born on the road, so they come with me everywhere and they like it. If they spend too much time in the same place, they go, ‘Dad, what’s next?’

“They’ve been to every museum in the world, they’ve been to every zoo in the world, so they’re having a good time.”

Ricky is openly gay and his two twin sons, Mateo and Valentino, were born via surrogate in 2008. Ricky hopes that his young sons will grow up to love and appreciate music the same way he does and also hopes that at least one of them becomes a singer as well some day.

“They have something. They have something going on,” Martin says. “It’s very beautiful to see my kids playing drums, with a beat. At least one of them. The other is a little bit more hippieish. He’s more into nature and water and swimming and flowers. But there is one that is very musical, let’s see how it goes.”

What do you think of Ricky Martin’s decision to take his kids on tour with him?
