Unfortunately, we didn’t get any gameplay to go with the announcement, but now we have some thanks to Capcom Europe.

The Capcom Europe YouTube channel has just been updated with the first trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations on consoles. It gives us a good look at what the game will look like on modern hardware compared to the already fantastic looking 3DS game. Check it out:

Most gamers will notice the improved lighting immediately as the game looks far darker than it did on the 3DS with the flashlight being even brighter than before. It will hopefully make the console version far creepier than its handheld counterpart, and even more so than its action packed contemporary.

It’s my personal hope that Revelations does much better than Resident Evil 6. That way, Capcom will return to its roots with the next home console Resident Evil game instead of trying to appeal to every demographic in one game. That’s already proven to be a great way to go bust.

Resident Evil: Revelations will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on May 21. It will be $49.99 on all platforms. It’s been available on the Nintendo 3DS for about a year now and usually goes for about $19.99.
