Singer Ray J was arrested in Beverly Hills after police arrived at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel around 7:36 PM. Police were called to the hotel because a man was reportedly disturbing the peace.

Ray J had been involved in an altercation at the hotel’s bar. A woman alleged Ray J had grabbed her butt. Ray J claimed that he did not mean to do so, but the hotel felt it was best if he left the premises.

According to a valet at the hotel, Ray J was asked to leave the property but refused. The hotel security was going to conduct a private person’s arrest, but Ray J refused to cooperate.

When the police arrested Ray J at the hotel he resisted arrest and became extremely angry. Once inside a patrol car he began kicking the side of the car and eventually kicked out one of the windows.

He was then removed from the car so the police could restrain his feet to prevent him from kicking. At this point Ray J became even more angry and combative. He allegedly swung at the officers and even spit in the face of one of them.

“He became belligerent and used his feet to shatter the side window of the police vehicle,” according to the police statement.

Police were eventually able to take Ray J back to the station and he was charged with trespassing, private person’s arrest, vandalism on a police car, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer. His bail was set at $20,000 and he was released a short time after his arrest.

Ray J will appear is court for the charges on July 25. He has not released a statement about his arrest.
